E.C. "Curley" Metts

Edgar Carl “EC – Curley” Metts, age 76, of Cleveland, TX. passed away Monday, November 19, 2012. He was born April 21, 1936 in Security, TX. to parents, Frank Metts and Leota Simmons Metts who preceded him in death along with brothers, Oren and Thomas Metts. He was "Poppa" to all that knew him; he was a loyal faithful deacon at Security Calvary Baptist Church in Security, Texas for many years where he enjoyed gospel music and played the harmonica. He attended Conroe High School and was an owner of his own business. He will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished him. He leaves behind his wife, Gaynell Metts; daughter, Connie Metts Coats and Randy; sons, James Oren Metts, SR. and Dianne, and Rickey Metts; grandchildren, Jamie and Angela Metts, Talina Metts, Caleb and Melissa Coats, Kyle and Paige Coats, Kerbi Coats; great-grandchildren, Dustin Willis Metts, Cason, Cali and Kenli Coats, Josh and Eternity Metts, Emily Kurtz. Very special nurse Claire Lynn Foy and Amazing Doctor, Dr. Edward Flores. Numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and many special friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Pace Stancil Chapel, Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel Cleveland, Texas with interment at Security Cemetery, Cleveland.
