Earl Murphy, a longtime resident of Liberty and Polk county, passed away at the age of 72 on October 7, 2024. Earl was born to Roy and Willie More Murphy on December 4, 1951 in Livingston, Texas.
Earl was raised on a rice farm in Romayor, Texas. He worked for Georgia Pacific for over 28 years and finished his career at Hardin ISD. He spent the last 41 years married to Lisa, raising his kids, and adoring his granddaughters. He was known to his family and friends as a kindhearted, charismatic, fun-loving man. He was everyone’s favorite drinking buddy, and his generosity and love was known by so many. He will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Willie More Murphy; stepson, Jason Creel; brothers, Cecil Murphy, Larry Murphy, Ershel Murphy, Charles Murphy, Gerald Murphy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Lisa Murphy; son, Robert Murphy; daughter, Brandie Murphy; granddaughters, Shyla Creel and Cami Creel; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Earl will be held at the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas on Friday, October 11th at 9:00 am. The burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Rye, Texas.
