Earl Hubert Matlock, 58, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Baytown, Texas after a brief illness. He was born July 10, 1953 in Tacoma, Washington to parents Earl Nathaniel Wade Matlock and Greta Kathy Cayton Matlock and had lived in the Dayton area since 1993 previously living in Corpus Christi. For the past six years Earl had been employed by the Sheldon Mud as district manager. He loved being with his family and enjoyed his garden, fishing, and carpentry.
Services for Earl will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2012 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Earl was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Kim Kovar Matlock of Votaw; his mother, Greta K. Cayton Davis of Kentucky; his daughter: Jackie Greene and husband Tim of Dayton, his sons, James Matlock and wife Nikki of Dayton, and Jeremy Matlock and Dara of Dayton; his stepchildren, Bud Reed and Rana Meyer of Dayton, his brothers, Larry Matlock of Kentucky, Ronald Matlock of Kentucky, and Jesse Matlock of Indiana, his sisters, Kitty Matlock of New Jersey and Cynthia Archibald of Indiana; grandchildren, Cynthia, Jason, Cierra, Zachary, Alexis, Nathaniel, DeeDee and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Aleister and Hunter; special companion, Tammy Lockhart; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
