Earl Dean Grigsby Sr was born January 7, 1935 in Guion, Arkansas to parents, Rexford Grigsby and Olla Mae Tate Grigsby. He passed away in Scurry, Texas on November 15, 2024 at 89. Earl proudly served our country in the U.S.M.C. from 1954-1957. Earl was a Radiographer, and was a welder in the oilfield industry. The most important thing to Earl was being a father, mentor to all, and grandfather to a legacy of grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Rexford and Olla Mae Grigsby; beloved wife, Claudia; stepdaughter, Betty George; sisters, Vinamae Carpenter, and Jearldean Barner; brothers, Felix Grigsby, Pawnee Grigsby, and Royce Grigsby. He is survived by his sons, Earl Dean Grigsby Jr, Danny Grigsby, Gary Grigsby, and Kelley Grigsby; stepson, Leslie Mitchell; stepdaughters, Kay Castleberry, Kathy Cooper, Karri Pundt, Stacey Hendrix, Shirley Turner, and Lea Van Arsdale; and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2pm in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery with Bro Carl Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
