Dudley Jay Kelley, 70, of Woodville, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his home. He was born December 16, 1947 in Lubbock to his late parents, Swain David Kelley, Sr. and Orgie Coffman Kelley.
Dudley had lived in Woodville for the last 8 years, before moving to Woodville he had resided in Dayton for 15 years and was a previous resident of Pearland also. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with service during the Vietnam War, a retired machinist from Houston Manufacturing, after 25 years of faithful service and one of his biggest enjoyments was listening to bluegrass music and county and western music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Swain David Kelley, Jr.; sister, Darla Jean Kelley and his former wife, Shirley Kelley.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Audrey Kelley of Woodville; daughter, Jessica Kelley of Houston; step-daughter, Michelle McElhaney and her husband, James of Liberty; sisters, Doris Nell Kelley Cofer and her husband, Ray and Denise Lucile Patterson and her husband, Jerry Lee all of Lubbock and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Anderson Officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin.
Pallbearers will be Justin Acy McElhaney, Michael James McElhaney, Roger Rhyne, Keith Steffensmeier, Chris Wynn and Scott Winston. Honorary pallbearers will be David James and James McElhaney.
