Doyle Tanton, Sr., 75, of Liberty, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in Kingwood. He was born June 19, 1942 in Evadale, Texas to his late parents, William Archie Tanton and Gladys Jackson Tanton.
He was a lifelong resident of Liberty, attended Bible Way Pentecostal Church and was a retired offshore diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Martha Clark Tanton; son, Sparky Tanton and his wife Polly Kay; daughter Sharlotte Thompson; grandchildren and their spouses, Corkey Tanton and Sam Smith, Johnny Tanton, Summer and Greg Smith, William Tanton, Kayela and Michael Quinlan and Jeremiah Thompson; great-grandchildren, Joey, Brayden, Alyssa, Jonathon, Tristen, Ashdon, Makaela and Keaton; special niece, Vicky Lynn Tanton; special friend, Dorothy Tanton and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Bible Way Pentecostal Church. A Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at the church with Rev. Adolph Johnson and Rev. John Odom officiating. Burial follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Quinlan, Greg Smith, Corkey Tanton, Jeremiah Thompson, Johnny Tanton and William Tanton.
