Doyle Ray "Yogi" Johnston

Doyle R. “Yogi” Johnston, 66, of Crosby, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
A time of remembrance will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Johnston residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Doyle was born August 1, 1944 in Crosby, to parents; Carl and Mable Johnston, and has resided in the Crosby area throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Crosby High School class of 1962, veteran of the US Army with service during the Vietnam War, retired conductor and brakeman for the Southern Pacific Railroad, and enjoyed his cattle.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Linda White Johnston of Crosby, son: Craig Carl Johnston and wife Stacey of Collierville, TN, daughter: Kimberly Johnston Burkhart and husband Jake of Houston, grandchildren: Cullen Gregory Johnston, Kirsten Erin Johnston, Abby Burkhart, and Emily Burkhart, brothers: William Wayne Johnston and wife Vickie of Haslet and Donnie Joe Johnston and wife Michelle of Crosby, sister: Linda Carol Johnson of East Texas, sisters-in-law: Sherry Easley and husband Paul of Dayton, Donna Suitt of Crosby, and Anita Pringle of Reno, NV, brothers-in-law: Terry White and wife Carolyn of Highlands and Tony White and wife Susan of Lake Whitney, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
