Dorothy Elizabeth Rundzieher Hutto passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 12, 2011. She led a long and blessed life here on earth.
Mrs. Hutto was born in Humble, Texas on September 4, 1922. She married B.F. Hutto on February 5, 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Hutto had three children; and were married for 63 years, until the time of his death in 2001.
Dorothy or “Mammy” as she was called by those who loved her; was a walking lesson in work ethics. She was Food Service Director at Bloomington High School and Head of Housekeeping at Legget Memorial Hospital. She retired from Port Arthur I.S.D. She worked hard all of her life. After retirement, Mammy loved working in the flower garden, reading and going to movies. Mrs. Hutto volunteered many, many hours at the Community Center in Cleveland. She also loved spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. When it was time for Mammy to go home; a chorus of, “It’s my turn to go!” Could be heard from all the kids. Everyone wanted to stay at Manny’s house; and she always happily obliged.
Dorothy Hutto was preceded in death by her loving husband, B.F. Hutto; son, Charles Michael Hutto; brothers, George and Johnny Rundzieher; sister, Margaret Wilson; son-in-law, Lester Winfree. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hutto Winfree; her son, Billy Fate Hutto and wife, Sharron; nine grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years.

Dorothy Hutto has left a great legacy behind her. Because of her, numerous youth have become involved in rodeo. All of her grandkids have learned the power of unconditional love; and if you were one of the lucky people who got to eat one of her yeast rolls, you know what pure bliss is.
We will all surely miss our Mammy. Those people in Heaven are lucky to have her. She was one of a kind.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Jean, Gina and all the ladies at Milestone. They went above and beyond to love and care for Mammy and us.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Memory of Dorothy E. Hutto to New Hope Baptist Church, 545 FM 2025, Cleveland, Texas 77328, where Mammy was a faithful member.
