Doris Watson Harrell, 89, of New Iberia, Louisiana, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil funeral Home in Dayton. Doris was born April 21, 1925 in Henderson, to parents; Elmer and Lola Bell Watson. Doris was a former resident of Kilgore, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of the Kilgore High School, member of the New Iberia Garden Club, the Altrusian Club of New Iberia, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society and as a Pink Lady for hospitals. She also enjoyed playing golf, sewing, gardening, making jewelry, and other crafts. Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James Ray Harrell, grandson: Wade Cuccia, sister: Macy Minor, and brother: Jerry Watson. She is survived by her daughters: Pam Odom and husband Gary of Dayton and Pat Cole and Charles of Dallas, son: Jim Harrell and wife Rhonda of the Bahamas, grandchildren: Jeff LeBlanc, Megan Odom, Stephanie Wilken, Aaron Jones, Amy Callender, and Justin Harrell, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
