Doris Elisabeth Mckellar

Doris Elisabeth McKellar, age 89, passed away Wednesday, June 05, 2013. She was born to parents John Alvin Jarboe and Agnus Cronin Jarboe on September 19, 1923 in Shepherd, Texas. She was a 1940 graduate of Shepherd High School; she married Robert McKellar and they made Shepherd their lifetime home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shepherd, Texas for 89 years. She was deeply devoted to her family, family gatherings were always made tastier with her wonderful cooking. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years Robert McKellar; both parents John and Agnus Jarboe; son Bobby McKellar; her daughter Melissa Monroe; and her granddaughter Angela Riffe. Survivors include her son Carl McKellar and wife Jean; brother Judson Jarboe and wife Peggy; grandchildren Tony Riffe, Sonja Riffe, Rebecca McKellar, Kacey Edgar and husband Michael, Kevin McKellar and wife Amber, Janet McKellar, and Britni Haley; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 06, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Dr. Preston Baker will preside over funeral services being held Friday, June 07, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Shepherd, Texas with interment following at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Pallbeares include Kevin McKellar, Derek Jarboe, Charles Riffe, Mark Moore, Davis Moulder, and J.D. Jarboe.
