Doris Jean Bolton Arnold, 71, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on June 15, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1952, in Bryan, Texas, to Aubrey Dale Bolton and Hanae Hanazawa. Doris resided in Dayton for the past 46 years, previously living in Channelview, Texas.
Doris was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an accomplished artist who found joy in painting and crafting. Sewing was another skill she cherished. Her culinary talents were legendary among her loved ones, especially her famous German Chocolate Cake and mouthwatering turnip greens and collard greens.
Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful roses and flowers she nurtured. Doris took pride in keeping her vehicles impeccably detailed. She was known for her strong work ethic and adored her dogs and horses. Her leisure hours were spent watching her favorite shows like The Voice, America's Got Talent, and CSI Miami. Doris had a deep appreciation for music and loved participating in karaoke sessions. She was a night owl who cherished sleeping in.
Above all, Doris lived for her grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Dale Bolton and Hanae Hanazawa, and her brother, Bobby Wayne Bolton. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Garry Arnold; her daughters, Cheryl Arnold, Stacey Lemoine and husband Shay; her brother, Glen Dell Bolton and wife Rocki; her grandchildren, Larry Peltier and wife DJ, Daniel DeLoney and significant other Madeline Warner, Garrett Mihm and significant other Kasidie Loftin; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Chandler, and Maple; her life-long friend, Soozi Ety; and numerous nieces, other family members, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. Doris will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Pallbearers for her service will be Garrett Mihm, Larry Peltier, Daniel DeLoney, Kevin Theiss, Nicholas Terrell, Mark Lottig, Paul Campbell, and Marvin Leger, with Glen Dell Bolton, J.J. Calhoun, Jerry Williams, Mark Llanes and Steve Ety serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Doris will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
