Donna Maxine Williams

Donna Maxine Williams passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025 at the age of 93 in Montgomery, Texas. She passed away of natural causes in her residence surrounded by her family. Donna, an only child, was born in Norton, Kansas to Oliver Ray Hoover and Inez Ruth Gardner on March 16, 1931. 

Donna attended High School at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is where she met Tommy Jack Swaim. They were married December 15, 1950. Donna and Tommy had four children, Donald Jack, Michael Olen, Susan Inez and Billy Joe. The family moved around several times and lived in Frankfurt Germany in from 1963 to 1964, before settling down in Houston, Texas, and finally in Conroe Texas.

After Donna and Tom’s Divorce in 1976, she started working in the Employee Relations Department of Montgomery County Medical Center in Conroe, Texas. She worked there for many years, earning The Outstanding Employee of the Year award in 1983. She also served the Hospital Auxiliary as their first Director of Junior Volunteers.

Donna met Francis Stamford Williams and married November 18, 1977 in Conroe, Texas. They built a log cabin in the National Forest outside Cleveland, Texas where she lived until Frank’s death in 1993. She then moved back to Conroe and started working at the Conroe Community Wellness Clinic and worked there until her retirement.

She was very involved in the Montgomery County Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America as a Scout Leader and other leadership roles for many years. She was also involved in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Cleveland, Texas, The Conroe Rebekah Lodge #100 as Noble Grand in 2002, and loved singing in the First United Methodist Church choir. She spent many hours crocheting beautiful afghan’s for all of her children and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her Children, Donald Jack Swaim, Michael Olen Swaim (Peggy), Susan Inez Brown, and Billy Joe Swaim (Kristi), her Stepsons, Robert Lawrence (Larry) Williams (Leslie) and Raymond Morris Williams. She is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Donna was predeceased in death by both spouses’, Tommy Jack Swaim and Francis Stamford Williams.

Arrangements are being handled by Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Donna will be cremated and buried in the Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Garden in Cleveland, Texas next to Frank. A private family graveside service will be held on February 11th.
