Donald Gerald Pouncey, age 62 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. He was born May 25, 1951, in Galena Park, Texas. Mr. Pouncey was a Veteran, having honorably served in the United States Army, 1971 to 1977, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Freda Ludwig Pouncey. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Quinton; sons, Adam Quinton, Charles Pouncey and fiancé, Misti Howell, Donald Pouncey Jr., Joseph Pouncey and girlfriend, Jackie Ward; daughters, Vicky Fregia, Bessie Harvey, and Tricia Hawthorne; brothers, Jimmy Pouncey Sr., and Ralph Pouncey; sisters, Mildred Thomas, Clara Davis and husband Jimmy, and Ruby Pouncey; grandchildren, April Pouncey, Nisa Santos, Stephanie Pouncey, Haley Hawthorne, William Fregia, Wyatt Martin, Taylor Martin, Jason Padgett, Junior Pouncey, and Robert Pouncey; great-grandchildren, Malakai Santos and Ean Santos; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Melvin Holifield and Keith Brooks will preside over services to be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, with interment following at Magnolia Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. Pallbearers include Keith Brooks, Mike Blevins, Tommy Pouncey, Jimmy Pouncey Jr., Cody Pouncey, and C. W. Collier.
