Dolores Davis Lowe, 80, of Dayton passed away Thursday, May 03, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1937 in Marion County, Mississippi to Julius T. Davis and Minnie Lou Webster Davis.
Service for Mrs. Lowe will be 10:00 a.m., Sunday, May 6. 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home. Private interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.
Dolores was a long-time resident of Kenefick after moving from Mississippi. She met the love of her life and her soul mate when she was a mere girl and spent the rest of her life with him and their family. Dolores had many talents, gardening, crocheting, quilting, painting and playing the piano. She loved cooking for her family which was her whole life. She was a member of the Liberty County Art League and the Kenefick Activity Club. Dolores worked alongside her husband in a lifelong commitment ministering to the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Leavy Darby Lowe, Jr.; her sisters, Jerry Sue Davis Stringer and Laquita Davis Hutchins. She is survived by her daughters, Shelia Hall and husband Larry of Crosby, Rita Borny and husband Jean-Francois of Crosby, and Vanessa Shields and husband Paul of Crosby; sons, Reginald Lowe and wife Lori of Dayton and Timothy Lowe and wife Karla of North Carolina; grandchildren, Christina Ortiz, Michelle Spiers, Jeremiah Price, Joshua Price, David Price, Chad Price, Melissa Feti, Christy Price, Regina Monts, Samantha Borny, Serina Borny, Katarina Borny, Katrina Borny, Chelsea Hughes-Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Matthew Bernard, Riley Lowe, P.J. Shields, Kelli Anderson, Brandon Wright, Cameron Lowe, and Shelbi Lowe; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Gwendolyn Priscilla Davis Ham, Stanley Julius Davis, Patricia Ann Davis Sloan, and Gary Austin Davis; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
