A beautiful dimpled girl by the name of Diann Carol Rector Albert was introduced to the late Algis Rector Jr. and the late Dorothy Rector on September 28, 1944 in Houston, Texas. The sixth daughter of the couple she was given the nickname DeeDee and grew into a very sweet girl who confessed to Christ at a very early age while under the leadership and guidance of Rev. E.W. Whitfield of the New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. As she continued to grow in the church she served in the youth choir, as a junior nurse and participated in a variety of activities like Sunday school and the drill team. Along with being active in her faith, she was a very smart young lady and began her Elementary days at Crawford Elementary and completed Elementary school at Atherton Elementary. In completion of her education she attended E.O. Smith Jr. High School and graduated the class of 1963 at Phillis Wheatley Sr. High School where she enjoyed music and dancing in the Drum and Bugle Corp. Once she concluded her education, she then decided on the perfect career for the sweet young girl she was known to be and began working a career in nursing. She commenced in her career as a candy striper nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and later moved into nursing for 12 Oaks Hospital where she then met the loved of her life Kelly D. Albert, Sr. The young couple instantly fell in love and were wed on February 13, 1964. They then welcomed four beautiful children, three boys, Kelly, Jr., Bruce and Keita and one girl LaQuinca. After many years of nursing and now the mother of four children, Diann quickly realized her new passion would be her family and she gracefully retired from nursing and became a full time wife and mother. Many decades later filled with joy, happiness, good and bad times.
Diann peacefully transitioned into another life among her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on Monday, October 21, 2019. In this new life, she will be met by her mother and father, son, sisters and many more. Diann leaves to cherish her legacy her husband of 55 years, Kelly D. Albert, Sr.; her children, Kelly D. Albert, Jr., LaQuinca D. Brown and Keita N. Albert; one son in law and two daughters in law, along with multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
