Delores Ann Murphy

Delores Ann Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2023. She was born on October 1, 1943, to Willie and Vera Trahan. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Murphy, her special friend Rubert Franklin Jr., and her sister Billie Hooks.

Delores is survived by her loving daughters Barbara Hammac and husband Mike, Belinda Risner and husband Ricky, and Elizabeth Davis and husband Donny, as well as her son Richard Murphy and wife Kelly. She was also blessed with several grandchildren: Linda Risner, Angel Risner, Christine Sosa, Valerie Murphy, Kayla Davis, Justina Davis, William Davis, James Davis, and Derek Davis. Her great-grandchildren include Riverlynn Stember, Weston Stember, Samantha Reina, Peyton Reina, and two more on the way.

She held a special place in her heart for her nieces Felicia Bullock and Lesley Bullock, who were like daughters to her. Delores also cherished her friendship with Sister Betty Watson, who was not only her special friend but also her pastor. Additionally, her beloved doggy, Princess, brought her much joy and companionship.

Delores will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. She found great happiness in spending time with her loved ones, cherishing every moment shared. Whether it was family gatherings, celebrations, or simple gatherings with friends, Delores cherished these moments and made them special.

Her warm and loving nature touched the lives of many. Delores leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Her memory will forever be treasured by all those whose lives she enriched with her kindness, love, and laughter.
