Della Mae Potts-Cole, 92, of Dayton, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home prior to services. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Della was born September 12, 1922 in Elysian Fields, to parents; James Westmoreland and Ovie Gaddis, a former resident of Willis, and has resided in Dayton for the past eight years. She was a former cashier from W.T. Grant Store in Northshore, attended the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed quilting, fishing, and trips to the hunting camp. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Claude Cole, Sr., and brothers: James and Ralph Westmoreland. She is survived by her son: Wayne E. Potts and wife Carol of Dayton, sister: Bernie Schaffner, stepsons: Sam Wayne Cole and wife Sandy, Claude E. Cole, Jr., and numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
