Delbert Blair Barrett, 83, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Delbert was born August 6, 1928 in Cooper, to parents; Luther Lee and Mary Marie Haddock Barrett, a former resident of Glen Rose, and has resided in Liberty for the past six years. He worked in the oil field for many years, was Baptist by faith, and enjoyed classic automobiles and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and great-uncle. Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his wife: Delois Barrett, parents: Luther Lee and Mary Haddock Barrett, brothers: Luther Howard Barrett and Leon Arthur Barrett. He is survived by his son: Barry Barrett, brother: Quentin Barrett: grandsons: Nick and Anthony Barrett, nieces and nephews: Charles Barrett, Rhonda Barrett Rau, Ellen Barrett Cumbie, Phoebe Barrett Prause, Dave Barrett, Carol Barrett, JoAnn Barrett Gajdosik, and Audie Barrett, numerous friends at Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty, and a host of other family and friends.
