Deborah Gae Hanagriff, 71, of Sour Lake, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in Beaumont. She was born November 8, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas to her late parents, Moody Fredenburg and Naomi Hughes Fredenburg.
Deborah grew up in Lubbock, had resided in Crystal Beach for a period and was then a longtime resident of the Liberty and Anahuac areas. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the C.E. King, Anahuac and Baytown school districts and retired from Liberty ISD. She was a drama major in college and received many awards for her performances. Deborah was a dog lover and spent much of her time taking care of her dogs. Deborah was an avid “Yellowstone” fan and enjoyed watching the series with her friends.
Mrs. Hanagriff was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Edgar Hanagriff and a sister Pamela Dowell.
Survivors include her son, Jake Ducote; grandchildren, Madison Ducote, Bryce Fregia, Kaia Ducote, Kane Ducote and Micah Ducote; brothers, Moody Fredenburg, Jr. and Pete Fredenburg and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
