David Howard Phillips

Today we celebrate the life of David (Dave) Howard Phillips. He was born in Canton, Ohio on August 2, 1941 to parents, Phillip Howard and Thelma Inman Phillips. At the age of 82, Dave passed away in his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on March 18, 2024 in Willis, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Howard Phillips and wife Thelma; beloved wife Betty Jo Phillips; sister, Beulah Loraine “Lori” Lucas. Dave is survived by his beloved sister, Onita Frank and husband Glenn; daughters, Cherie Hicks and husband Rod, Suzanne Pearce and husband Rex; grandchildren, Robby Aills and wife Mary, Eden Schaffer and husband Chad, Ethan Pearce and wife Aubrey, Haley Olson and husband Chris, Abby Davis and husband Matt; and numerous great grandchildren. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11am at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery with Chaplain Glen King officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be, Robby Aills, Ethan Pearce, Chad Schaffer, Chris Olson, Matt Davis, and Rod Hicks.

Dave loved anything that had to do with being outdoors, especially fishing and kayaking. He was also a very skilled artist and loved sneaking away to find hidden treasures to bring to life in his paintings. Dave was a Graphic Artist for Southwestern Bell/AT&T as well as at Spirit Industries. He loved to indulge his sweet tooth with his favorite ice cream, Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla, and if you ask any of the grandkids, they will tell you how many Big Red floats they had with him as kids. Dave enjoyed all the family get togethers and spending as much time as he could with them. One of his greatest joys was the abundance of great grandchildren he was blessed with. Dave was a devout follower of The Lord. He enjoyed spending time in the word and sharing it with others. Dave will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
