David O. Wright

David O. Wright, age 77, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. He was born December 02, 1934 in Houston, Texas to parents Orville H. and Nellie M Wright who preceded him in death. He was a Diamond Shamrock employee nearly 30 years as a relief shift supervisor at the Deer Park industrial chemicals plant. He spent his free time tending his 200-acre spread in Dolen, Texas. He raised registered Brahman cattle for breeding. He kept about 30 momma cows trying to improve the stock by selecting good herd sires, mixing different bloodlines and getting more size on the calves. So over the years he’d gone from breeding a short-legged, big bodied animal to a long-legged, long bodied version that produces leaner meat. Raising cattle was both a hobby and a business. He loved his family dearly. He will be miss by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife Lori Wright; his loving daughter April Wright; one sister Mary Nell Dees, one niece Kelley Nevelsteen and husband David; one nephew Brandon Dees; great niece Ayshton and great nephew Alexander; and faithful friends beyond measure. Visitation will be held Friday, November 16, 2012, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Nick Van and Bro. Alvin Tomlinson will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, November 17, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Oak Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers include Winston Gardner, Brandon Dees, Tommy Hext, Gary Wiygul, Cade Marcantell, Howard Smith, David Pittman and Rob Peterson.
