David Gene Arnold, 62, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. He was born January 5, 1948 in Houston, Texas to parents Gene and Kathy Kalisch Arnold. David was a long time resident of the Northshore area, a 1966 graduate of Galena Park High School and attended the University of Houston. He was Past Master of the Galena Park Masonic Lodge # 1290, member of Shriners, and Scottish Rite. David worked for Crown Petroleum in Pasadena for 25 years and retired from US Steel in Houston. He had lived in Dayton for the past 15 years where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. David was truly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Services for Mr. Arnold will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Chris Trousdale officiating. Interment to follow 1:00 p.m. at SouthPark Cemetery, 1310 North Main, Pearland, Texas 77581. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Pallbearers are Ryan Arnold, Jamie Perkins, Johnny Minx, Phil Turner, Carlyle Stanek, and Aaron Street. Honorary Pallbearers are Ty Turner, Garrett Perkins, Lance Arnold, Hunter Arnold, Taylor Turner, and Rev. Randy Piatt. David was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife’s parents: Sam & Grace Brinkley. He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Beverly Brinkley Arnold of Dayton; his daughter: Mechelle Perkins and husband Jamie of Dayton; his son: Ryan Arnold and wife Vanessa of Dayton; his grandchildren: Ty and Taylor Turner, Garrett Perkins, Lance and Hunter Arnold; brothers: Bruce White and wife Barbara of Palestine and Mike Arnold and wife Pat of New Braunfels and sister: Barbara Arnold of LaPorte; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
