David Jean Brewster

David Jean Brewster, 45, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on August 10, 2024. Born on February 9, 1979, David was the cherished son of David Jean Brewster, Sr. and Shela Covington Brewster. Raised in Cleveland, Texas, David was a devoted Christian with a strong sense of family. He found joy in the simple things, preferring the comfort of home and the company of a close-knit group of friends over larger social gatherings.

David was a dedicated family man, always willing to lend a hand and deeply involved in the lives of those he loved. His love for animals, particularly raccoons, and his appreciation for the country life and time spent in the woods were significant parts of his identity. As an old soul from a young age, he took great pride in homeschooling his God-child, Gunner, over the past three years.

David found fulfillment in working with his uncle as an arborist and pursued his passions through drawing, hunting, fishing, and baking bread. His nurturing spirit and dedication was focused on his immediate family and select friends.

David is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dave Brewster and Jessie Covington, grandmother, Ina Fay Laymance, his father, David Brewster, Sr., and his nephew, Eron Shane Poling. He is survived by his mother, Shela Covington Brewster; his grandmother, Shirley Brewster; his brother, Anthony Ray Brewster; his sister, Raini Brewster and his God-child, Gunner. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family, including LaMikea, Christopher and wife Chloe, Lacey Ray, Lee and wife Leia, Thorin, Chloe, Connor, Cailei, Deringer, Eric and wife Vyy, Emily, Gavin, Noah, Blandon, Alfie, Sophia, Lucas, Evan, Acein, Xavier, Bryson, Rylan and Olivia as well as his favorite aunt, LaJoyce Poling, aunt Vivian "Gilligan" Brewster, and uncle Tommy Ray Brewster.

A celebration of life is planned to take place at the Brewster/Poling Cemetery and Memorial Garden. Date and time will be announced.
