Darlene Fay Otto Batchelor, 85, of Dayton, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Darlene was born November 23, 1929 in Rosenberg, to parents; Anson James and Dora Elizabeth Coffelt Otto, and has been a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1947, a homemaker, member of the Rural Shade Baptist Church, and former member of Kenefick Southern Baptist Church. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, oil painting, and puzzles. Mrs. Batchelor was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Dale Batchelor, daughter: Glenda Abshier, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters: Patsy White and husband Norman of Dayton and Linda Batchelor of Jasper, brother-in-law: Nick Carlisle of Jewett, grandchildren: Rachel Carr and husband James, Julie Slack, Bonnie Lorraine, Steve Rives, Norman White, Jr. and wife Cynthia, and Pamela McClure and husband Allen, great-grandchildren: Amanda, Kent, Jessica, Keagan, Ashlynn, Keaton, Presley, Leah, Devin, Brian, Hannah, David, and Sarah, great great-grandchildren: Blaine and Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. For those who desire donations may be made to the Rural Shade Baptist Church at 3304 County Road 2274, Cleveland, TX 77327, in Darlene’s name.
