Dale Robert Conn, Sr. 58, of Dayton unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Baytown, Texas. Dale was born February 15, 1961 in Hammond, Indiana to parents Wesley Robert Conn and Ann McGee Conn.
The service for Dale will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton.
Dale’s family moved to Texas in the 70’s making Dayton their home. He met the love of his life in 1979 and they just celebrated 36 years of marriage. He graduated from Dayton High School in 1979 and in 1988 began his career at Enterprise where he has worked for over 30 years. He was currently Superintendent, of the Houston Region Storage where he was a friend to all.
Through the years Dale touched everyone that met him. He supported his boys and all their friends in all activities, whether it was coaching baseball, basketball or football. He was very active in the Dayton Youth Sports Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Dale was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He made every family and friend gathering more fun than could be imagined. He loved cooking for everyone. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, being at the beach, and at the river always with Bessie, family and friends. He loved to travel and always talked about planning the next trip. Dale cherished every experience and moment created with all who he held close to his heart. There was never a dull moment with Dale and he loved his Cowboys!
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Robert Conn; fathers-in-law, Melvin Douglas Schuler and Lonnie Gruver. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Schuler Conn of Dayton; his mother, Ann McGee Birdsong of Humble; his mother-in-law, Linda Gruver of Dayton; his sons, Dale Robert Conn, Jr. of Dayton and Matthew David Conn and wife Ellie of Dayton; his grandchildren, Dale Robert “Tripp” Conn, III, Caroline Eileen Conn, and Boyd Matthew Conn all of Dayton; his sister, Kathy Saltsman and husband John of New Caney; sisters-in-law, Tomika Chapman, Amber Schuler and Camille Dodd Hines; nieces, Courtney Tanner and husband James, Rachel Alonzo and husband Keith, Becky Young and husband Travis, Tracy Fetters and husband Larry, Kim Lindsey; great-nieces and nephews, Zoie, Chelsea, Jesse, Cayden, Brayden, Adelyn, Koden, Brooke, Christian, Avery, Mia, and Bella; his best friends, Randel and Karen Arnold and their family; numerous other family members and friends.
