Obituary for Dale Eric Speer
Dale Eric Speer, 34, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2025, in Dayton, Texas. He was born on October 9, 1990, in Baytown, Texas, to Kirk Speer and Dorothy Bennett.
Dale spent his entire life in Dayton, where he was a proud graduate of Dayton High School, Class of 2003. His love for adventure was evident as he traveled extensively with his Granny and Paw Paw, sharing many fond memories, including his favorite trip to the Grand Canyon. He was their “baby,” and his deep affection for them shaped his kindhearted nature and bright personality.
Dale worked at Go Green, where he was appreciated by his boss, John, whom he respected and admired. Known for his warm smile and easygoing demeanor, Dale made friends wherever he went. He was a good-hearted individual who valued his relationships with others and was loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wane and Dorothy Bennett, Dale and Anna Lee Speer; his step-brother, Ricky Cotten, Jr.; and his cousin, Dustin Beasley.
Dale is survived by his loving parents, Dorothy Cotten and her husband Ricky, and Kirk Speer; his brother, Curtis Leon Speer; step-brother, Ricky Wright and his family; step-sister, Rachel Wileman and her family; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at Palms Cemetery in Dayton, Texas, on March 28, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
Dale will be deeply missed, but his memory and the love he shared with those around him will remain in our hearts forever.
