Dale Alan Holmes

Dale Alan Holmes, 49, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2012. He was born October 1, 1962 to his loving parents George and Ann Holmes and also survive him along with the light of his life, his two sons, Alan Bradley David Holmes and Jackson Ryan Holmes; step son, Robert McAdams; his sister, Cindy Holmes White and husband, David; niece Samantha White and nephew Hunter White; his loving grandmother, Irene Beasley, who he lovingly called the “Queen B”; Aunts Fayrene Matheny and husband Lowell; Elva Hart and husband Roy; Violet Holmes; Gloria Murphy and husband, Donald; Uncle Alton Holmes and wife Jean; great Uncle Donald Lamb; and many other cousins, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather William Bradley “Pappy” Beasley and Grandparents Bennie and Essie Holmes; Uncles David, Jimmy, and Jack Holmes; and Aunt Melba Holmes. Dale grew up in Bellaire, Texas. He graduated from Bellaire High School (Class of 1981) and attended the University of Houston. Dale loved life. He loved his family and friends. Some of the greatest joys and times of his life were the times he spent with his boys and their activities especially hunting and fishing. He loved the game of baseball. Out of all the jobs he had ever worked, he said the job he enjoyed the most was being an umpire. Dale loved the Lord and his family. Dale fought a great battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed, but we know that he is well, at peace, and with the Lord. Pallbearers: Sandy Grimm, David Hart, Roy Lemons, Art Maya, Joe Wardell, and Wesley Russell Honorary Pallbearers: Fellow umpires, West University Little League Officers, Coaches, and Players Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Crosspoint Church at 4601 Bellaire Blvd. in Houston with graveside services at 3:00 p.m., Friday, at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m to 9 p.m., Thursday, at Crosspoint Church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
