D. A. “Buddy” Tilton, 79 of Dayton died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at home in Dayton. He was born February 5, 1933 in Old River, Texas to parents Amos and Leila Harmon Tilton. He attended high school in Barbers Hill and was a member of the Church of Christ. Buddy was a heavy machine operator and was retired from Coastal Water Authority. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being in the woods.
Graveside service for Buddy will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Stevens officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Tilton was preceded in death by his parents: Amos and Leila Tilton; his parents-in-law: Doyle and Neva Havard; the mother of his sons: LaNell Pittman Tilton; infant twin grandsons; and sister: Margaret Williams. He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Donella Banning Tilton of Dayton; his sons: Keith Tilton and wife Kathy of Old River, James Tilton and wife Barbara of Dayton, and Milton Tilton of Dayton; his grandchildren: Staci Hemmenway and husband Bryan of Cove, Mike Tilton and Ali of Dayton, Amy Harlan and husband Donald of Mont Belvieu, and Tonya Theriot of Dayton; nine great-grandchildren; his special friends: Archie and Patsy Ulkie; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
