Curtis “Wayne” Vercher, 61, of Hardin, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Moss Hill Cemetery in Moss Hill. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Wayne was born December 4, 1955 in Pasadena, to parents; Curtis M. Vercher and Ethel N. Coleman, a former resident of Dry Prong, Louisiana, and has resided in Hardin for the past 31 years. He was a graduate of the Dry Prong High School class of 1974, a machinist for 30 years, and currently employed by the maintenance department of the Liberty County Jail. He was also a member of the CCA Trinity Valley Chapter. His hobbies included fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Vercher was preceded in death by his father: Curtis M. Vercher and brother: Rickey Lynn Vercher. He is survived by his mother: Ethel Coleman Collins of Hardin, sisters: Cynthia Valentine and husband Howard of Louisiana and Rhonda Weiss of Texas City, numerous other relatives, and friends.
