Curtis Lee Brown, Sr. passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on June 30, 1962, in Baytown.

 

Curtis attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. After completing his education, he pursued a career as a crane operator. With his skills and dedication, Curtis played an essential role in various construction projects.

 

In addition to his professional achievements, Curtis served 7 years in the United States Army. He proudly dedicated himself to his military service and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. His commitment to serving his country was deeply admired by all who knew him.

 

Outside of work and the military, Curtis had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a passion for fishing and would often spend hours out on the water, enjoying the peacefulness of nature. Curtis also found thrill and excitement in riding motorcycles, exploring new roads with the wind against his face.

 

One of Curtis's favorite pastimes was visiting casinos and trying his luck at games of chance. He loved the thrill of anticipation and always approached gambling with an optimistic and lighthearted attitude. In addition to that, Curtis found enjoyment in online gaming where he could connect with friends from all over and engage in friendly competition.

 

On February 2, 2024, Curtis peacefully passed away surrounded by his beloved family. During his final moments, the presence of those closest to him provided comfort and solace.

 

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents James Melvin Brown Sr. and Susan Elaine Purfurst Brown and his brother Michael Brown. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

 

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Christina Baker Brown. Their bond was one of love, support, and companionship that endured throughout their years together. Curtis is also survived by his children Curtis Brown Jr. and his wife Martina, Steven Brown and his wife Jessica, Chad Hayes, Eric Hayes and his wife Megan, and Blake Hayes and his wife Chelsea.

 

Family meant the world to Curtis, and he cherished the time spent with his brothers Walter Brown, James Brown Jr., and his wife Lynn and Steven Brown and his wife Rebecca. They formed a close-knit family unit that shared precious memories together.

 

Curtis also leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his eight grandchildren who will forever remember him as a loving and caring grandfather. In addition to his immediate family members, Curtis had numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who all held a special place in his heart.

 

Though deeply saddened by Curtis's passing, let us celebrate the incredible life he lived. May we hold onto the fond memories we have shared with him as we say our final goodbyes. Curtis's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
