Cora Lee Ann Shoemake, age 66, a resident of Cleveland, Texas for 30 years, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Kingwood Medical Center. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 28, 1946 to parents Harry Joseph and Evelyn Perone Bergeron who preceded her in death along with her brother Harry Bergeron Jr. Cora Lee was kind, giving and tender hearted and deeply devoted to her family. Family gatherings were made tastier with her great cooking; and she loved camping and fishing too. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years James Winston Shoemake; daughters Patricia Shoemake, Vicky Shoemake Lindsey and husband Charles Lindsey; grandchildren; Kristen Orozco, Dylan Orozco, Andrew Lindsey, David Lindsey; great-grandson, Benjamin Reed Lindsey; sisters, Sharon Bergeron, Sheila Bergeron Smith and husband Paul; numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends. Visitation will be held Monday, December 17, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., December 18, 2012 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 13200 F.M. 2025, Cleveland, Texas 77328.
