Connie Kaye Hatcher Johnston, 58, of Dayton passed away January 7, 2022, in Conroe, Texas. Connie was born February 7, 1963, in Dayton to parents, Weldon Hatcher and Eula Smitherman Hatcher.
Connie was a lifelong resident of Dayton where she attended Dayton Schools and was a member of the DHS Class of 1981. She had worked for many years at the BBQ Pit and then assisted her mother in the day to day operations of the Old and New Shop for many years. Connie loved helping and taking care of people, too many to be named. She was loved by all that knew her especially her infectious laugh.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, Weldon Hatcher and her stepfather, Doug Tinkle. She is survived by her constant companion and loving mother, Eula Tinkle; her two daughters, Misty Aubey and husband Kyle and Rachel Johnston; her brother, Bradley Hatcher; her grandchildren, Brinley Aubey and Jameson Aubey; nieces and nephews, Cori McGuffie and Graeme, Rhea Hatcher and partner Loyd Harrison, and Bradley Hatcher, Ashley Blake, Laci Patty and Larissa Hohn; also numerous great nieces, and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Service for Connie will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Pace-Stancil. Honoring Connie as a pallbearers are Kyle Aubey, Bobby Johnston, Darren Johnston, Kelton Sivils, Robbie McManus, Calvin Westcott, Johnathan Lovell and Marty DeShazo. Honorary pallbearer is Jameson Aubey.
