Colden Charles Neal “Buster” of Splendora, TX passed away March 14, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. surrounded by loved ones in his home. He was born on September 24, 1937 in Port Arthur, TX to parents L.E. Neal and Lila Kennedy who preceded him in death. He was very well known and loved in the community.
Neal was never afraid to try anything he wanted to do in life. He was a preacher, mover, butcher, boxer and cowboy (among many other things in life), big brother, Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He was the tall and skinny one, six foot tall to the top of his hat. He would always say he was too young to be a grandpa he would be called Uncle Charles. However, he took one look at his new grandson and said I am the Grandpa! Turns out it was his favorite job.
He loved the Lord and brought many people to the Lord. Every Sunday he would load his moving truck up with children and take them to church to learn about Jesus.
Neal loved to sing, preach, marry people, fellowship and work. He always wanted to work. He had a mobile wedding chapel that he took to Houston and married people at the courthouse. He would say “Don’t leave God out.”
He was the Real Deal Charley Neal. He loved us and we loved him.
He is survived by his wife Tempie Darline Neal of 60 years and their two daughters, Cheryl Neal and Linda Campbell and husband Frank Campbell; siblings, George Aubert, Richard and Bill Kennedy; grandchildren, Travis Campbell and wife Allison, Brent Campbell and wife Michelle, Luke Campbell and John Charles Ellis; great grandchildren, Zack, Katie, Carter and Dex Campbell; numerous other relatives and loved ones.
