Colby DeWayne Winfrey

Colby DeWayne Winfrey was born January 3, 1997, in Huntsville, Texas to parents, Scott Allen Winfrey and Melissa Walker Winfrey. He entered the gates of Heaven May 14, 2024, in Conroe, Texas at the age of 27 and was greeted by his Daddy, Scott Allen Winfrey; grandparents, Weeman and Dolores Winfrey; grandfather, Charles Walker; grandfather, Claude “Cowboy” Smith. He is Loved and missed by his wife, Kyla Winfrey; his best friend and son, Stetson Allen Winfrey; mother, Melissa Winfrey; brother, Ross Tom Winfrey, and wife Tabetha; niece, Hadley Winfrey; and many more extended family and friends. To know Colby was to love him. Whether he was roping a steer or riding a bronc, you could sense his love for rodeo. This passion started when he first got on a bronc at Branded for Christ arena. After that, there wasn’t a horse he wouldn’t get on or at least try. His determination and grit were unmatched when it came to horses and his family. He lit up every room he walked into with that genuine smile and contagious laugh. He had a heart of gold and willingness to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

 We will be celebrating the life of Colby at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, Texas. The visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5-9pm. Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2pm in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, with Pastor Virgil Currie and Pastor Zack Currie officiating. Burial immediately following Colby will be laid to rest beside his Daddy in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Stephens Creek.

A remembrance gathering will be held at Diamond G Venue in New Waverly, TX directly following his burial. We welcome all to come and join us to eat and share wonderful stories of how Colby touched each of our lives.
