Clyde Arnold “Poppy” Gibson, Sr., 90 of Crosby, Texas passed away on December 19, 2019. He was born August 8, 1929 in Millville, Indiana to parents Henry Gibson and Cansada Lee
Services for Mr. Gibson will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are David Watrous, Dylon Watrous, Drexel Polasek, Aaron Cox, Cody Richards, and Kyle Richards.
Mr. Gibson was a longtime resident of Texas. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950 until 1954. He had lived in Dayton for the past 13 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW in Liberty. Clyde was a huge Astros fan and enjoyed watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clyde Gibson, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Harold Gibson, William Gibson, Arvine Gibson, Sr., Alberta Cooley, and Lawrence Gibson; his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Gibson; and his wife of 4 years, Barbara Gibson. Clyde is survived by his children, Gary Wayne Gibson and partner James Sparks, Robert Gibson and wife Terry, Ada Chastain and husband Gary, Gail Polasek, Joy Watrous and husband Ray, Tonya Cox and husband Mike; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
