Clive Edward "Rusty" Mclaughlin

Clive Edward “Rusty” McLaughlin, age 76 of Cleveland, TX passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022. He was born December 17, 1945, in Perth, Western Australia to parents Lewis Edward and Daphne Althea McLaughlin. When he was 6 months old he came to the USA by boat with his mother and was greeted by his father and grandfather. When his dad saw he had red hair he nicknamed him “Rusty” and it stuck. Rusty Served in the United States Navy and was a Sunday School teacher in his younger years. He retired as a foreman at the Shell Plant in LaPorte, TX. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a firm believer that you only killed what you were going to eat. He is preceded in death by both of his parents Lewis Edward and Daphne Althea McLaughlin; brother, Clifford; and sister, Sharon. Survivors include his wife of 27 years Robin McLaughlin; son, Chase Edward McLaughlin; stepson, Frank Ruiz , Jr; brother, Darrel Wayne; sisters, Shirley, Linda, Daphne, and Iris; granddaughter, Jessica Paige Ruiz; along with numerous other loving family and friends. A memorial will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00am at the Splendora Assembly of God in Splendora, Texas with Rev. Glen Mead officiating.
