Clinon Eugene Cox
“Gene”
October 11, 1952 – April 11, 2025
Well, folks, I’ve finally wet my last line. My name is Clinon Eugene Cox, or “Gene” as most of you know me. I’ve had a good run. I’ve always been one to live in the moment and never take a single thing for granted; you know, just a “go with the flow” kind of guy. I’m leaving behind a world full of memories, hard work, hours of hunting/fishing, and a deep love of my family. From the time I spent at Lyondell Petrochemical to Chemicals Incorporated and all the cars I fixed in between; I’ve worked hard and made many friends along the way. I hope each of you will remember me with a smile and a good story.
To my brothers and sister, (Terry Wayne and wife Terry Lynn Cox, Tim and wife Sarah Cox, and Brenda Burke and husband Scott) I am with mom and dad now and we are reminiscing about all the great times we’ve had together at family reunions in Big Sandy and holidays from years past.
To my son, “Eddie,” continue to fish on son and take care of those you love (Wife, Alicia, and kiddos: Colby and Mason Cox, Matthew, Bo, and Kaylee Hollon). I will always be just a cast away waiting for our next car show to attend.
And last but not least, to the love of my life for almost 50 years my wife, Nancy. Through all the day to day, ups and downs, we’ve really made it through; a lifetime of loving. Take care of the pups and enjoy your building for me until we are together again.
