C. Winston Wheeler was born in Mt. Vernon Texas on November 20th 1941. He was saved in Sarasota Florida in 1955. He met the love of his life Gerry Crane when he was 16 and she was 14 they later married in 1961 when she was 17 and he was 19. They had three daughters Christi, Peggy, and Mori. Winston joined the United States Marines when he was 17 years old and served his country for 4 years. While he was in the Marines he felt called to surrender to the ministry. He went to Fort Worth Bible college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He was later ordained to the ministry in 1966 by Beltline Baptist church in Garland Texas. Winston did mission work in Marlin Texas and while there he felt called to be a missionary to Africa. Winston, his wife Gerry, and their three daughters went to Africa in 1968 they were there for 8 years. They later served in the Amazon of Brazil, Sao Paolo, and Caraguatatuba. He was an international missionary for 27 years. When he came back to the United States he was the pastor of 4 different churches for a total of 30 years. He is survived by his lovely wife Gerry Crane Wheeler of 59 year, his three daughters, his 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
