Christine Carter

Christine Louise Carter was born on November 14, 1939, in Houston, TX to parents Minnie Haines and Claude Haines. She passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 84 in Conroe, TX.

Christine is preceded in death by her husband Pete Carter, sisters Lucille, Claudine, and Fairrel and brothers Oscar, Freddy, and William. She is survived by her brothers Roland Haines and his wife Doris and Butch Haines and his wife Jan. She is also survived by her children Sherry McShan and her husband Kevin, Brad Carter and his wife Debby, and Carl Carter and his wife Laura, her seven grandchildren Stephen Carter and wife Sofia, Kayleigh Pursley and husband Joey, Amanda McShan, Justin McShan, Stefanie Hall and her husband Nathan, Brittany Carter and her fiancé Jessie, and Cody Carter and his wife Kortney. Her great grandchildren include Kai and Kinleigh Carter, Landon, Mikaila and Harper Hall, Sage Pursley, Kara Carter, Brielle, and Brilynn. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Christine had a green thumb and loved taking care of her flowerbeds and doing yardwork. She spent many joyful years with her grandchildren taking them to movies, swimming, and the family farm. She also enjoyed travelling with her husband and sister, interior decorating, and watching old westerns.

Christine was a housewife, a beautician for many years and later worked at Target until she retired. She and her husband Pete had been married for 44 years.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5th, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring, TX with funeral services on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Coldspring, TX. The burial will be at the Carter Cemetery.
