Cheryl Diane Driver, 66, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on July 5, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Elmer Lloyd Holt and Rose Frances Dunn Holt. She was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and spent the last seven years of her life in Dayton.
Cheryl was a vibrant soul who embraced life's simple pleasures. She found joy in sunny days, the beauty of plants and butterflies, and the challenge of crossword puzzles. Her days were often brightened by her favorite television shows, "The Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune." A true fan of 70’s rock 'n' roll, Cheryl also took great delight in watching the Houston Astros.
As a dedicated homemaker, Cheryl’s greatest love was her family. She cherished time spent with her three daughters and took immense pride in caring for them. Her love for shopping online and her gentle nature were just a few of the many ways she brought warmth and joy into her family's lives.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karen Lewis, and her husband Larry Driver. She is survived by her daughters Kristin Munn and husband Jeff, Rachel Driver and Scott Stevenson, and Brittany Driver and Joshua Greer. She leaves behind her sister Leslie Castillo and husband Carl, her grandchildren Eric Smith and wife Molly, Ethan Munn, and Lincoln Greer, and her great-grandchild Violet Smith. Cheryl is also remembered fondly by her nieces Brieanna Massey and Ashlee Scott.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Linney Cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers will include Jeff Munn, Scott Stevenson, Carl Castillo, Eric Smith, Ethan Munn, Joshua Greer, with Lincoln Greer serving as an honorary pallbearer. Pastor Jeff Day will officiate.
Cheryl’s warm spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace
