Charles Elvin “Bo” Smith, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2024, at the Corrigan Memory Care/LTAC Facility in Corrigan, Texas.
Bo was born in Liberty, Texas on January 15, 1937, to Elvin Harvey “Bo” Smith and Alma Vernice Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Tarkington Prairie and graduated from Tarkington High School. He married Earline Terrel on October 14, 1960, in Liberty County. He worked his way up to Area Superintendent at Lyondell Petrochemical Company until his retirement on November 21, 1996. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family, hunting, fishing, and barbecuing. He was a member of Peace Tabernacle Assembly of God in Cleveland, Texas.
Bo is preceded in death by his wife, Earline Smith; his sister, Billie Ruth Lee; and his parents, Elvin Harvey Smith and Alma Vernice Smith.
Bo is survived by his eldest son Charles Elvin Smith, Jr. and wife Delisa Smith and youngest son William Earl Smith; his grandchildren, Alicia Michelle Smith, William Lewis Smith and wife Erica Anchondo Smith, Krystal Nicolle Laughlin and husband Pete Laughlin, and Gustavo Araujo Smith; and his great -grandchildren, Zeth Arturo Castilla, Charles Mitchell Smith, and Emily Hope Smith; many other relatives and cherished friends.
We will be having a visitation on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas from 10 am to 2 pm.
