Charles Jerell Strouse, age 78 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born August 16, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Harold Strouse and Jeanette (Hughes) Fleener who preceded him in death along with his step father, Sidney Fleener; mother and father in law, Ray and Martha Eastes; grandson Steven Miller; great grandson Waylon Greer; and brother in law, Joe Adams.
Charles grew up in Indiana. He retired from US Airways after 37 years and was a volunteer and foster of MSRH (Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Houston), Past Director of San Jac ESD (emergency service district) and Habitat for Humanity, and a member of Coldspring United Methodist Church. He will be sadly missed by K-9 companions, KC, Layla, Sissy and Rieko.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Strouse; sons, Brian Strouse and Kevin Strouse and wife Shiela; grandchildren, Chris West, Brian Strouse, Sarah Greer and husband Nick, Jeremy Strouse, Josh Strouse, Michael Ringo, Cory and Ashli Gagnard; sister in laws, Ruth Adams, Rose Armstrong and husband Don; brother in law, Robert Eastes and Barbara numerous nieces and nephews as well as great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Coldspring United Methodist Church, Coldspring, Texas. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to MSRH.org
