Charles E. Kolek, Sr., 83, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at St. Anne Mission Catholic church with burial following at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Charles was born December 12, 1933 in LaGrange, to parents; John C. and Frances A. Kubosh Kolek, and has been a resident of the Dayton area since 1974. He was a former truck driver for Central Freight Lines, dairy farmer, and veteran of the US Navy. He also enjoyed working in his barn and spending time with is granddaughters.
Mr. Kolek was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Benjamin and Joseph Kolek. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Stephie Kovalcik Kolek, daughter: Loretta Kolarik and husband Jesse Gonzales, sons: Charles E. Kolek, Jr., Michael Kolek, and Patrick Kolek, sisters: Bernice Kaspar and Marcella Janecek, brother: Jerome Kolek, grandchildren: Tania Kolarik and fiancé Tanner Hilyard and Kaitlyn Kolarik and fiancé Jackson Craft, numerous other relatives and friends.
