Cecil Edward Sartin, 75, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at San Jacinto Methodist hospital in Baytown, Texas. He was born July 22, 1939 in Palestine, Arkansas to parents, Jeff Talley and Jennie Soley Sartin.
Service for Mr. Sartin will be held Tuesday January 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Reverend Wes Foster will officiate. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday January 19, 2015 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Pallbearers will be, Stephen Sartin, Timothy Sartin, Jonathan Sartin, John Martincic and Paul Martincic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 50 years: Betty Lou Maddox Sartin, brother: Vernon Sartin and sisters: Martha Guenther and Katherine Carter.
Mr. Sartin had been a resident of the Dayton/Kenefick area for more than 40 years. Cecil served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1958 1969. After his military service Cecil became an agent for American National Life Insurance Company, where he worked until his retirement. Mr. Sartin attended First Assembly of God church in Dayton, Texas. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting or tinkering with old cars. Cecil enjoyed meeting people and had an easy laugh. He especially loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Cecil is survived by his sons: Anthony Sartin and wife, Sue, David Sartin, Robert Sartin and Tim Sartin and wife Stacie; brothers: Harry Sartin, Charles Sartin and Jeff Sartin; sister: Joan Barron; grandchildren: Stephen Sartin, Brittany Kirkpatrick, Timothy Sartin, Jennifer Shuman, Kelsey Sartin, Taylor Sartin, Jeana Sartin, Jonathan Sartin; great grandchildren: Zackary Sartin, Waylon Sartin, Jaxson Sartin and Raelynn Sartin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
