Casey Jack Schumacher

Casey Jack Schumacher, 55, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on April 1, 2025. Born on December 23, 1969, in Lubbock, Texas. Casey was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was a 1987 graduate of Goddard High School in Roswell, New Mexico, and later attended New Mexico State University. A man of Christian belief, Casey was a member of the Methodist faith.

Casey’s career in the petroleum industry took him to many places, and he spent much of his life moving from town to town. He had called Dayton home for the past eight years, having previously lived in New Orleans and several other cities across the country. Despite the many moves, he remained rooted in his love for his family and the joy they shared together.

One of Casey’s greatest passions was scuba diving. Every year, he would take his family on an unforgettable trip to Mexico or the Caribbean, where they would spend a week snorkeling and exploring the underwater world. Beyond his love for adventure, Casey was a dedicated reader, often immersing himself in books about military history and espionage. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as trying new restaurants with his family, catching a good movie, and listening to the soulful sounds of blues music.

At home, Casey’s heart belonged to his five beloved dogs: Gunny Highway, Calaboose, Sunny, Sassy, and Kilo. He cherished the moments spent relaxing around the pool with them by his side. Known for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor, Casey was always ready to make others laugh and brighten their day.

Casey was preceded in death by all of his grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Wendi Schumacher; his parents, Rod and Jeri Schumacher; his son, Colton Schumacher; his sister, Katelin Schumacher; and his five precious dogs, Gunny Highway, Calaboose, Sunny, Sassy and Kilo.

Casey’s warmth, laughter, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love for his family and his joyful spirit will continue to live on in their hearts forever.

A celebration of Casey’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Casey’s memory.
