Carrol Dean Jenkins, age 71 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away at Huntsville Memorial Hospital October 24, 2013. Carrol was born to Ike and Opha Jenkins on December 13, 1941 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He married Leslie Hill February 18, 1967 in Falfurrias, Texas. He is survived by his wife Leslie; two daughters Bonnie Fitzpatrick of Omega Bay, Texas, Darlene Jenkins of League City, Texas and one son Denny Jenkins of Denison, Texas; six grandchildren, Beau, Nicole, Sean, Denton, Christian and Cole; four great-grandchildren Kanin, Gavin, Zoe, Kash, and Greyson (to be); three brothers Charles Jenkins of Gun Barrel, Texas, David Jenkins and wife Carole of Corsicana, Texas and James Jenkins and wife Carol of Milwakee, Wisconsin; three sisters Alice Avalos of Sherman, Texas, Elizabeth Conary of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Brenda Baldridge of Bells, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Ike and Opha Barker Jenkins, one brother Bill Jenkins and niece Jo Nell Jenkins White. Ike and Opha moved from Sikeston, Missouri with their children settling in Raymondville, Missouri. Carrol was raised there along with his brothers and sisters. He joined the U.S. Navy. He retired in 2003 settling in Coldspring with Leslie. He was a member of Family Faith Church. From the view of his children, their father and mother had the greatest love story of all times! He was their “Heroâ€! Pastor David Branson will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, October 26, 2013, 4:00 p.m. at Family Faith Church, 12350 Hwy 150 West, Coldspring, Texas. Visitation will start at 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
