Carlvin J. “C. J.†Breaux, Sr., 71, of Dayton, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty. Graveside services will be held at 11:15 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Houston National Cemetery with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. C. J. was born June 24, 1942 in Pasadena, to parents; Elmore and Menia Meloncon Breaux, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 34 years. He was a graduate of the Fidelity High School and retired owner of C. J. Breaux Auto Service. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received the bronze star for saving his platoon. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, barbecuing, fishing, hunting, gardening, raising chickens. Mr. Breaux was preceded in death by his father: Elmore Breaux, mother: Menia Meloncon Breaux, and an infant sister: Elmora Breaux. He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Ligaya Johnson Breaux, daughters: Shane E. Johnson of Dallas and Mary Lou Johnson of Dallas, sons: Anthony Q. Breaux and wife Rita of Liberty and Carlvin J. “Boo†Breaux, Jr. and wife Blanca of Atascocita, sisters: Marilyn Robicheaux of Humble, Debra Robicheaux and husband Leo of Houston, and Karen Sium and husband Tzehate of Houston, brothers: Elmore Breaux and wife Theola of Houston, James W. Breaux and wife Ann of Houston, and Joseph K. Breaux and wife Glenda of Dayton, grandchildren: Felipe, Elexus, China, Jason, India, Alexus, Anthony, and Zachary, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
