Carl Ray Casey, 82, of Moss Hill, met the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Hardin United Methodist Church in Hardin. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home I Dayton. Carl was born July 26, 1930 in Wharton, to parents; William M. “Bill†and Esther Kohleffel Casey, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Moss Hill for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of the Boling High School and attended the University of Houston studying engineering. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during Korea, a former Dayton city councilman, Justice of the Peace, and member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #825 and Hardin United Methodist Church. His work experience consisted of being a retired operator for Texas Gulf Sulphur after 31 years of employment and then following interest in horses and cattle ranching. He also enjoyed reading and leatherwork. Mr. Casey was preceded in death by his father: William M. “Bill Casey, mother: Esther Kohleffel Casey, daughter: Jo Ann “Jodi†Casey, one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife: Jo Ann Dunn Casey of Moss Hill, sons: Paul E. Casey, Sr. and wife Patti of Bullard and Ralph Casey of Dayton, grandchildren: David Casey, Robert Casey and wife Amanda, and Paul e. Casey, Jr. and wife Lynn, great-grandchildren: Blake, Reese, Aedan, and Ethan, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Jo Ann “Jodi†Casey Scholarship at the Hardin United Methodist Church at PO Box 134, Hardin, TX 77561, in Carl’s name.
