Carl B. Young, 81, of Dayton passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at home. He was born January 25, 1937 in Houston, Texas to parents, Bonnar Young and Letha Schumacher Young.
Services for Mr. Young will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Lakeway Baptist Church, 5801 FM 1960-East, Humble, Texas. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Young, Chase Young, Paul Young, Brandon Young, Christopher Welch and Colby Wolfe.
Carl lived most of his life in the Houston area, moving to Dayton in 1999 from North Houston. He worked for the City of Houston for 37 years as a Senior Captain fire fighter and paramedic. He was a member of the Lakeway Baptist Church for the past five years and a member and deacon of Berean Baptist Church from his youth. He enjoyed reading the word of God, sharing the plan of salvation, spending time with family and salt water fishing. He also like old westerns, Blue Bell ice cream, electronics, ham operating, snow skiing and his cocker spaniel “Lady”.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Daniel Dyson; brother, Perry Richardson; sons-in-law, Hermana Dyson and Joseph Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ingrid Young of Dayton; children, Karen Schumacher and husband Stephen of Sulpur Springs, Cynthia Boyd of Dayton, Charles Young and wife Rhonda of Conroe, Paul Young and wife Jennifer of Cleveland, and James Lockhart and wife Beverly of Tomball; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
