Bruce Stephen Schibik, 59, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on October 6, 1955 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania to Charles and Jennie (Panek) Schibik. Bruce grew up in Charleroi, PA and Levittown, PA. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Levittown, PA. He then joined the Army where he served for six years at the National Security Agency headquarters in Maryland. He attended University of Pittsburgh, where he received a bachelors in Biology. He worked for many years in chemical and biology related industries. Bruce met Tricia McClelland in 1990 and relocated to Texas where they were married. Upon retiring from industry, Bruce enjoyed a new career as ranch manager for the family’s Arabian horse breeding and racing operations. Bruce had a dry sense of humor and truly enjoyed telling creative stories. He was interested in, loved and enjoyed animals of all kinds except snakes. He enjoyed fishing, restoring old guns, assisting at the vet clinic, and science fiction/fantasy books and movies. Bruce also wrote true (exaggerated) stories, some of which were published by Arabian Finish Line magazine. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jennie Schibik. Bruce is survived by his spouse Tricia of Cleveland, TX; his brother Brian and wife Annie Schibik of Bensalem, PA; and his nephew Brenden Schibik; his stepson Brian and wife Natasha Keith of Beaumont, TX and grandsons Tyler and Tanner Keith and Charles Stiles; his stepdaughter Mindy Keith of Coldspring, TX and grandson TJ Minchew; Aunts Helen Simoncelli and Catherine Schibik; sister-in-law Anna Lynn McClelland of Cleveland, TX and mother-in-law Eloise McClelland Wellborn of Cleveland, TX; and numerous cousins in PA. A funeral service will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E Crocket, Cleveland, TX 77327 at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2015.
